The Suitcase Singers - Jubilee Wharf Choir - with Claire Ingleheart
Raise your spirits first thing on a Thursday morning with Claire Ingleheart's choir. This popular class started in November and the successful choir has attracted many members. Relaxed and lots of fun, the beautiful sounds reach out across the river and add cheer to all at Jubilee Wharf!
Claire Ingleheart is a multi instrumentalist, composer and Music Specialist who has worked extensively throughout the UK and Europe. As a musical "magpie" she has gathered various instruments and styles along the way including jazz, folk, classical, African, Latin, Eastern European, Gypsy, Indian and funk!
An experienced musical director and performer she has worked with Horse and Bamboo Theatre, Dodgy Clutch Theatre, Wild Works, Travelling Light, Manushi Dance, The Eden Project, Hall for Cornwall, Braga Tanga and Nottingham Television Workshop. As well as writing and performing with these companies she has written for short film, educational resource packs and many community projects including last year, conducting a 30 strong choir to support Peter Gabriel!
Before moving to Cornwall 4 years ago, she spent nearly 7 years working at Sutherland House School for children with Autism in Nottingham. It was here that she trained to become a Music Specialist, using music to facilitate language, communication and interaction. She now tours the uk, speaking at conferences and leading courses in this unique approach.
When not involved with leading choirs, she can be seen playing with Cornish based band, Underbelly www.myspace.com/underbellyfunk.
