Jude and Alan Munden can be found on the barge “Quay Workshop”, an 80ft iron Thames lighter barge.
Down below in his fully equipped machine shop Alan, trading as Quay Design, makes theatre sets, public space furniture and specialist joinery. He has also worked as a production designer and art director on a number of films.
Clients include Miracle Theatre, English Touring Opera, Pipeline Theatre and The Eden Project.
Examples of his work can be found around the Jubilee Wharf site, including the pram shelter/bench in the courtyard outside the nursery.
Jude Munden is an accomplished costume, prop, model-maker and scenic artist. In the past few years she has produced an eclectic array of work ranging from full size elephant’s head, life-size cherubs, steel sculpture, period costumes, architectural models, large puppets, painted cloth back-drops and two wedding dresses as well as delivering a range of school workshops.
Clients include Miracle Theatre, Pipeline Theatre, Shallal Dance company, English Touring Opera, Eden Project, Hall for Cornwall, Bedrock Film Company, Wild West Film Company, True West Theatre Company, Cornwall Council, Cornwall Youth Dance Company, Cornish Theatre Collective and Trifle Gathering Productions.
Jude and Alan often collaborate on projects and now run the Pipeline Theatre company with their colleague Jon Welch.
